Jordan, the Nike-owned sportswear giant, seems to be launching its first ever musical. “Too Easy” is debuting, tomorrow, July 19, and will feature players like Trae Young, Bam Adebayo, Chris Paul, Gabby Williams, and Paolo Banchero.
According to Jordan Brand, the visual is all rhythm, confidence, and control. It hints at a bigger story. For now, it’s a glimpse into the mindset behind “Too Easy,” the musical presented by Jordan Brand.
As the brand celebrates 40 years with Air Jordan, they’re taking their already transcendent marketing strategy to the next level.
Augmented Reality Coming to Sports
Last week, Snap Inc. (owners of SnapChat) and RWS Global announced a partnership that will enhance fan engagement at sporting events around the world.
The relationship will bring together Snap’s augmented reality (AR) lenses with RWS Global’s revolutionary and proprietary sport presentation software, PV4, a centralized video and graphics playback system integrating video, graphics, text and third-party game data to deliver a seamless, best-in-class fan experience.
The relationship will kick off with two global sporting events: The World Aquatics Championships in Singapore from July 11 to August 3, 2025 and the three-city British & Irish Lions Tour in Australia with fixtures on July 19, July 26 and August 2. At both events, the “Snapchat Cam” will be paired with venue video boards to create unique lens effects, taking fan interaction to the next level. The AR filters can be customized to create interactive games and branded experiences for sponsors, driving incremental revenue for event hosts.
The announcement builds upon Snap and RWS Global’s work together at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games at which RWS Global produced the in-venue fan experience for 54 sports in 37 venues.
Athlete Spotlight: Sydney Colson
Known as one of the most charismatic and vibrant personalities on the WNBA’s Indiana Fever, Sydney Colson will now add comedian to her resume. On Saturday, July 19, she will perform original stand-up material live on stage for the first time during “Fever Fest,” a first-of-its-kind music and comedy festival during the WNBA All-Star Weekend.
Hosted by comedy legend Deon Cole, Fever Fest will feature a star-studded lineup including a headlining performance by GRAMMY nominated, multi-platinum chart-topping global superstar The Kid LAROI, comedy stars Cedric the Entertainer, Leslie Jones and Aida Rodriguez, plus music sets by chart-topping artists G-Eazy and BIA.
Colson has played comedian on her social media, in her brand partnerships, and on her TV show, but this is the first time the baller will take the stage. Colson has been keeping her stand-up bit tight lipped. In a press conference with teammate Caitlin Clark, a reporter asked if Clark had heard any of the routine.
“I give her bits to work on, honestly,” Clark stated. “I don’t know if she actually works on them, but I think their funny. I tried to get her to practice on me, her stand-up bit, but she won’t do it. She’s got to save it for everybody, but I’m sure it will be really funny knowing her.”
